They come to us after others have already tried. This is exactly that kind of story.
The roof was leaking. Someone had decided the answer was fast and cheap — they coated the old bituminous membrane with liquid rubber on top to "seal" the surface. On paper it sounds logical. In practice — it does not work.
Because the water was already inside. Trapped beneath the old waterproofing, it had nowhere to go. The sun heated it, it evaporated, the pressure lifted the rubber into blisters. Every blister — a potential crack. Every crack — a new path for new water. The leak did not stop. It simply hid under the coating.
We do not work that way. So we started from scratch.
We removed the entire old membrane and the liquid rubber. We uncovered the real condition of the slab — and began where the previous team should have begun: with the geometry. We built proper slopes, so water has nowhere to sit. We replaced the roof drains — the old ones were clogged and cracked, and a single bad drain makes any waterproofing above it pointless.
We primed the entire surface for maximum adhesion. Then we laid two layers of high-quality bituminous membrane — not one layer that can fail at the seams, but two, staggered, so every joint is protected by a second layer above. The finish — new metal flashing and cap sheets that protect the edges and complete the roof as one continuous system.
The result: a roof built to work, not to conceal. One that will not need a second round in two years.
